The App Garden on Flickr
While browsing the Flickr – one of my favourite service for photo organization and viewing, I came across App Garden.
Since Flickr has a open Application Programming Interface it allows developers to create their own apps using the API of Flickr by mixing the content on Flickr. The App Garden is a place where developers can showcase the applications they've created and where you can find new ways to explore Flickr. Developers can create their own Flickr app by requesting a API key.
Some of my favourite apps are
Bulkr
Bulkr, which is an Adobe AIR application, allows you to backup your photostream and download your Flickr photos. The software works on Windows, Apple and Linux. Since the software is being developed please make sure that you check the website for the latest version of the software.
Photo flow
Photo Flow is a Iphone app that shows the best photos of flickr on your Iphone when it is idle. It is a nice screensaver for your Iphone or Ipod touch.
theGOOD Uploadr
Again a Adobe AIR application that allows you to upload files to Flickr. Some of the features of the application are
- Cross platform compliant
- Post automatic updates to Twitter
- Ability to add and identify people in a photo
- Photo data copying
- Geo tagging enabled
- Fast and stable.
FlickrBooth
This application integrates with Apple’s photobooth so that you can upload the photos from the photo booth. It is a simple program that can be installed easily and is ready to use.
